Snoopy & Woodstock

helloSIZE: 5.5” x 9.5”  &  2.5“ x 5.5”helloThe most challenging part of designing Snoopy was perfecting the shape of his face. To tackle this complex shape, I broke it down into two parts: the snout and the back of the head. helloThe snout was symmetrical, so it was easy to make. To transition from the snout to the head, I divided each round into two halves, one for the forehead and one for the chin. I added more stitches to the top half of each round than the bottom half to achieve Snoopy’s raised forehead.

The story of Snoopy is not complete without his best friend Woodstock!
helloTo crochet Woodstock’s crest as one long continuous piece rather than separate pieces for each spike, I began by crocheting a long chain, which stretched from the top of his beak to the underside of his head. Starting from the front of the chain, I crocheted the spikes, gradually increasing their height until it peaked at the crown of the head. Then, I decreased their height again as I approached the back of the head.
hello hello
