February 2018helloFor this still life composition, I chose the antique bronze jug that decorates the round console table in our living room. It’s smooth, matt surface was perfect for charcoal rendering. To contrast the heavy jug, I placed a couple of delicate plumeria flowers next to it.
helloWith a tissue wrapped around my finger, I smoothed out the charcoal to achieve the dull metallic shine on the jug. I used the pointed tip of a blending stump to render the delicate petals of the flowers and the soft shadows on the table and wall.
